Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Resolvine is an investigational pharmacologic vitreolysis agent developed by Kato Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of symptomatic vitreomacular attachment (VMA), vitreomacular traction, and non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR). The drug is a liposomal formulation of urea, designed for intravitreal injection. Its mechanism of action involves the chemical disruption of protein-mediated adhesions at the vitreoretinal interface, facilitating the separation of the vitreous from the macula (posterior vitreous detachment). By inducing this separation non-surgically, Resolvine aims to improve visual outcomes and reduce the need for invasive vitrectomy procedures.
