Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Arexvy (respiratory syncytial virus vaccine (recombinant, adjuvanted), also known as RSVPreF3-AS01E or GSK3844766A) is an adjuvanted recombinant subunit vaccine developed by GSK for the prevention of lower respiratory tract disease (LRTD) caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). It contains a recombinant RSV glycoprotein F stabilized in the prefusion conformation (RSVPreF3) combined with GSK's proprietary AS01E adjuvant system, which consists of QS-21 (a plant extract from Quillaja saponaria) and 3-O-desacyl-4'-monophosphoryl lipid A (MPL) formulated in liposomes. The vaccine is approved for active immunization in adults aged 60 years and older, as well as adults aged 18 to 59 years who are at increased risk for RSV-associated LRTD.
