Overview

RESPIT Injectable is a veterinary biologic immunotherapy designed for the management of canine and feline atopic dermatitis. Developed by Respit, LLC and currently marketed by Nextmune, it consists of aqueous allergenic extracts containing up to 20-22 standardized allergens, including dust mites and pollens from grasses, trees, and weeds. Unlike traditional allergen immunotherapy (AIT) which requires individual intradermal or serum IgE testing, RESPIT is prescribed based on the patient's geographic region (Regions 1-9 in the United States). It is administered via weekly subcutaneous injections to induce desensitization and reduce clinical signs such as pruritus and skin lesions.
