Overview

ResQ-209 is an investigational combination therapy regimen being developed by ImmunityBio for the treatment of recurrent platinum-resistant high-grade ovarian cancer. The regimen integrates three distinct therapeutic components: autologous memory cytokine-enhanced natural killer (M-CENK) cells, the IL-15 superagonist N-803 (also known as Anktiva), and the chemotherapy agent gemcitabine. M-CENK cells are patient-derived natural killer cells that have been expanded and activated ex vivo to enhance their anti-tumor persistence and cytotoxic activity. N-803 is a recombinant fusion protein that acts as an IL-15 receptor agonist, stimulating the proliferation and activation of NK cells and CD8+ T cells without inducing regulatory T cell suppression. Gemcitabine is a nucleoside analog that inhibits DNA synthesis by targeting ribonucleotide reductase and incorporating into DNA, providing a cytotoxic backbone to the immunotherapy. This multi-modal approach is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials to address the limited treatment options for patients with platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.
