Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Restoryl is a proprietary lipid emulsion technology developed by Bausch & Lomb, serving as the active component in Soothe XP emollient eye drops for the management of dry eye disease. It is engineered to mimic and restore the natural tear film by providing three essential components: neutral oils that rebuild the lipid layer to prevent evaporation, interfacial molecules that stabilize the lipid-aqueous interface and support the mucin layer, and water to replenish the aqueous layer. Clinical studies have demonstrated that Restoryl can more than double the thickness of the lipid layer with a single application, offering prolonged relief for patients suffering from evaporative dry eye symptoms.
