Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Restylane Contour is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler developed by Galderma Laboratories. It is a sterile, biodegradable gel composed of 20 mg/mL crosslinked hyaluronic acid (of bacterial origin) and 3 mg/mL lidocaine hydrochloride, which serves as a local anesthetic. The product is formulated using Galderma's proprietary XpresHAn Technology (also known as OBT technology), which creates a smooth, flexible gel that integrates into the skin while maintaining structural support. Restylane Contour is FDA-approved for cheek augmentation, correction of midface contour deficiencies, and correction of temple hollowing in patients over the age of 21. Classified as a medical device, it works by temporarily adding volume to facial tissue, with effects shown to last for up to 12-18 months.
