Overview

Restylane Lyft is a sterile, injectable gel composed of hyaluronic acid (HA) that is chemically cross-linked with BDDE and stabilized in phosphate buffered saline. It contains 0.3% lidocaine to reduce pain during injection. The HA is produced by Streptococcus species of bacteria. Restylane Lyft acts as a dermal filler for implantation into the deep dermis to superficial subcutis for the correction of moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles (such as nasolabial folds), cheek augmentation, correction of age-related midface contour deficiencies, and restoration of volume in the dorsal hand in patients over 21 years old[1][2][4][6]. Its mechanism involves providing structural support and volume through physical augmentation rather than pharmacological receptor interaction; it does not act on specific molecular targets but works by integrating into tissue matrices where injected[1][2]. Developed originally as Perlane-L, it was rebranded as part of the Restylane family[9].
