**RetinoStat** is an investigational, single-administration ocular gene therapy developed by Oxford BioMedica for neovascular age-related macular degeneration. It uses an equine infectious anemia virus-based lentiviral vector to deliver expression cassettes for secreted endostatin and angiostatin following subretinal administration. The expressed proteins are intended to provide sustained local anti-angiogenic and anti-permeability activity in the retina and choroid. In a completed Phase I study in advanced neovascular AMD, the product showed dose-dependent, durable intraocular expression of both transgene products and an acceptable safety profile, but clinical efficacy in the late-stage population was limited.
