Overview

Retro Biosciences (Retrograde Investments) is developing an in vivo tissue reprogramming gene therapy designed to treat age-related diseases by resetting the epigenetic state of cells. The program utilizes Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) vectors to deliver specific, though currently undisclosed, reprogramming factors directly to target tissues. This approach aims to induce cellular rejuvenation and restore function in conditions such as osteoarthritis and age-related hearing loss. The therapy is currently in the preclinical stage of development and focuses on partial or transient reprogramming to avoid the induction of pluripotency while restoring youthful cellular phenotypes.
