Overview
Retterspitz muscle cream (formerly known as Quick Muscle) is a topical herbal formulation developed by Retterspitz GmbH & Co. KG for the treatment of acute musculoskeletal injuries, including muscle tension, strains, bruises, and swelling. The cream's primary active ingredients are nutmeg oil and rosemary oil, which provide anti-inflammatory and decongestant effects, supplemented by menthol (levomenthol) for a local cooling sensation. The formulation also contains arnica tincture and thymol. It is designed to be free from diclofenac and animal-derived ingredients. The product has been evaluated in clinical trials, such as the randomized, placebo-controlled trial DRKS00019006, for its efficacy in reducing pain and swelling associated with blunt injuries to the muscular, tendon, and joint systems.
