revamilast

Revamilast is an orally active, potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4), developed by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. It is being investigated for the treatment of inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and asthma. By inhibiting PDE4A, PDE4B, and PDE4D isoforms, revamilast increases intracellular cAMP levels in immune cells, leading to attenuation of the inflammatory response and suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α. Clinical studies have shown good tolerability in healthy volunteers with no serious adverse events reported in early-phase trials[1][2][3][8][9].
