Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Revaxis is a combined booster vaccine containing reduced doses of diphtheria toxoid, tetanus toxoid, and inactivated poliovirus (types 1, 2, and 3). Developed by Sanofi Pasteur, it is indicated for active immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, and poliomyelitis in individuals aged 6 years and older. The vaccine is formulated with aluminum hydroxide as an adjuvant to enhance the immune response. It is typically used as a booster dose in individuals who have previously received a primary vaccination series, providing a convenient single-injection option to maintain protection against these three diseases. The reduced antigen content is specifically designed for booster use to minimize local reactions while maintaining effective seroprotection.
