Revelid

Revelid is a brand name for lenalidomide, an immunomodulatory imide drug (IMiD) and a derivative of thalidomide, manufactured by Rangs Pharmaceuticals. It possesses potent antineoplastic, anti-angiogenic, and pro-erythropoietic properties. The primary mechanism of action involves binding to cereblon, a component of the CRL4-CRBN E3 ubiquitin ligase complex. This binding alters the substrate specificity of the ligase, leading to the recruitment, ubiquitination, and subsequent proteasomal degradation of lymphoid transcription factors IKZF1 (Ikaros) and IKZF3 (Aiolos). The loss of these transcription factors inhibits the growth of malignant B-cells and induces apoptosis, particularly in multiple myeloma and certain lymphomas. Revelid is also indicated for the treatment of transfusion-dependent anemia due to low- or intermediate-1-risk myelodysplastic syndromes associated with a deletion 5q cytogenetic abnormality.
