Revitaderm40 is a topical keratolytic emollient cream developed by Blaine Labs, containing 40% urea as its primary active ingredient. It is designed to treat conditions characterized by thickened or dry skin, such as xerosis, hyperkeratosis, and calluses. Urea acts as a humectant, increasing water retention in the stratum corneum, and as a keratolytic agent, which softens and dissolves the intercellular matrix of the keratinized epithelium. This dual action promotes the exfoliation of dead skin cells and restores the skin's moisture barrier. The formulation often includes supportive botanical ingredients like aloe vera, tea tree oil, and chamomile to soothe the skin.
