Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Reviva-sil is a topical silicone gel marketed by Trifluent Pharma for the management and reduction of scars, including hypertrophic and keloid scars resulting from surgery, trauma, or burns. The formulation typically consists of medical-grade silicones, specifically dimethicone and dimethicone crosspolymer. When applied to the skin, it forms a thin, flexible, and water-resistant occlusive barrier that increases the hydration of the stratum corneum. This hydrated environment helps to modulate the expression of growth factors and cytokines, such as transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), which in turn normalizes collagen synthesis and improves the texture, height, and pigmentation of the scar tissue. As a silicone-based topical, it is often regulated as a medical device while being distributed through pharmaceutical channels.
