REVTx-200 is an **intranasal immunomodulator** intended as an adjunct to intramuscular vaccination to achieve more complete immunity against respiratory viruses. Standard intramuscular vaccines typically elicit strong systemic (IgG) immune responses but weak mucosal (nasal, IgA) immunity. REVTx-200 aims to stimulate local nasal cytokine production, recruiting adaptive immune cells (T and B cells) into the mucosal compartment for enhanced protection against pathogens that enter through the nose. The mechanism of REVTx-200 is believed to involve stimulation of the innate immune system, via **Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) agonism**, leading to increased cytokine and chemokine production, which then recruits and activates adaptive immune responses. REVTx-200 is based on glycopyranosyl lipid adjuvant (GLA) technology, also used in related products such as REVTx-99. The developer, Revelation Biosciences, is assessing this product in preclinical and early clinical settings for immunologic augmentation of vaccines, including for influenza and potentially other infectious diseases[1][2][4][5][6][7].
