Overview

REX-002 (also known as ReRx-002) is an autologous multi-cell therapy (MCT) developed by Ixaka (formerly Rexgenero) for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers (DFU). The therapy is derived from the patient's own bone marrow and consists of a concentrated population of mononuclear cells, including monocytes, lymphocytes, and stem/progenitor cells. REX-002 is designed to be administered locally to the site of the ulcer, where the cells work synergistically to stimulate angiogenesis, modulate the inflammatory environment, and promote tissue regeneration. This approach aims to heal chronic, non-healing ulcers in diabetic patients who have failed standard of care, potentially preventing severe complications such as infection and amputation. REX-002 is a sibling product to Ixaka's lead candidate, REX-001, which is in Phase III development for chronic limb-threatening ischaemia (CLTI).
