Overview

REX-7117 is a highly potent, selective, and orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of the STAT3 (Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3) protein. It specifically targets the SH2 domain of STAT3, resulting in deep, durable inhibition that is both reversible and highly selective for STAT3 over other STAT family members. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that REX-7117 achieves efficacy comparable to biologics targeting IL-17 in models of plaque psoriasis and inflammatory arthritis. Unlike JAK1/2 or TYK2 inhibitors, it does not impair interferon-dependent antiviral immunity or hematopoietic growth factor signaling—key safety differentiators. The drug impairs Th17 cell function (a driver in several autoimmune diseases) while sparing other immune pathways critical for host defense. Developed by Recludix Pharma, its primary indications are Th17-driven inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis and inflammatory arthritis[1][2][4][5][6][7][8].
