Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Reyanning mixture is a Chinese patent medicine composed of four botanical drugs in a 2:2:2:1 ratio by weight. The herbal components are Taraxacum mongolicum (Herba taraxaci), Polygonum cuspidatum (Rhizoma polygoni cuspidati), Patrinia villosa (Herba patriniae), and Scutellaria barbata (Herba scutellariae barbatae)[4]. It has been approved by the National Medical Products Administration of China and is widely used for the treatment of acute upper respiratory tract infections, including COVID-19, pneumonia, tonsillitis suppurative, sore throat, acute pharyngitis, and acute bronchitis[1][6]. Clinical studies suggest that it improves lung lesions, enhances gastrointestinal function and autoimmune response, reduces inflammatory factors expression in vivo[1][2], and may regulate multiple immune-related pathways. Network pharmacology analyses indicate that its active constituents target molecules such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF), interferon gamma (IFNG), tumor protein P53 (TP53), C-reactive protein (CRP), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARG), interleukins IL1B/IL2/IL6/IL10/CXCL8/CXCL10 among others[5]. Its mechanism involves anti-inflammatory effects via modulation of cell proliferation pathways and inhibition of M1 macrophage polarization through glycogen synthesis pathway[7].
