**rF-Mgp100** is a recombinant fowlpox virus-based therapeutic cancer vaccine encoding a modified form of the full-length gp100 melanoma/melanocyte-associated antigen, in which specific anchor amino acids are altered to enhance binding to the HLA-A*0201 molecule and improve immunogenicity. The vaccine is designed to stimulate an immune response against the gp100 antigen, which is expressed in melanoma cells, thereby facilitating anti-tumor activity through T-cell mediated immunity. Clinical studies in patients with metastatic melanoma showed that vaccination with rF-Mgp100 could induce gp100-specific T-cell responses and, especially when combined with high-dose interleukin-2 (IL-2), could lead to objective tumor regressions, including partial and complete responses. Its primary indication is for skin cancer, particularly melanoma[1][3].
