Overview

RF16001 is an investigational small molecule, long-acting local anesthetic developed by Wuhan Humanwell Hi-Tech Industry. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical development for the management of postoperative pain (postoperative analgesia). As a Class 1 new chemical entity in China, RF16001 is designed to provide prolonged pain relief at the surgical site following administration via injection. Its mechanism of action involves the blockade of voltage-gated sodium channels, which inhibits the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses, thereby preventing the transmission of pain signals to the central nervous system.
