Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The rF1V vaccine + CpG 1018 is an investigational combination vaccine designed to protect against plague (Yersinia pestis infection). It consists of a recombinant fusion protein antigen (rF1V) derived from the F1 and V antigens of Y. pestis, formulated with the proprietary adjuvant CpG 1018. The addition of CpG 1018—a toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist—enhances the immune response by promoting T-helper type 1 (Th1)-biased immunity and increasing antibody production. This combination aims to provide more rapid and robust protection compared to previous alum-adjuvanted formulations, potentially reducing the number of doses required for effective immunization. The product is being developed in collaboration between Dynavax Technologies and the U.S. Department of Defense Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense[4][5]. Its primary indication is prevention of plague.
