Drug intelligence / Profile preview
rFPV-HIV is a recombinant fowlpox virus (FPV) vector-based vaccine developed for the prevention of HIV infection. It is designed to deliver specific HIV genes, such as env/gag sequences and modified tat/rev/nef-RT sequences, to HIV-uninfected adults. The vaccine aims to elicit an immune response, particularly cytotoxic T-cell responses, which are believed to be crucial in controlling HIV infection and disease. It has been evaluated for its safety and immunogenicity in clinical trials.
