Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RFUS-144 is a small molecule drug developed as a selective opioid receptor agonist. It is intended for the treatment of pain (including acute, chronic, and postoperative pain) and pruritus (itching). The drug acts by activating opioid receptors, which are known to mediate analgesic effects in the central nervous system. RFUS-144 is being developed primarily by Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd., also referred to as Yichang Renfu Pharmaceutical. As of June 2025, it has reached Phase 2 clinical trials for postoperative pain and Phase 1 trials for pruritus associated with chronic kidney disease in patients on hemodialysis[1][2][4][9]. The primary route of administration under investigation is intravenous injection.
