Overview

RG2077 (also known as CTLA4-IgG4m) is an investigational biologic drug developed for the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. It acts as a selective costimulation modulator by inhibiting T-cell activation through blockade of the CD80 and Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte protein 4 (CTLA-4) pathways. The drug is designed to induce antigen-specific nonresponsiveness in T cells by mediating a T cell costimulatory blockade, thereby reducing autoimmune activity. Clinical studies have evaluated its safety in patients with SLE receiving cyclophosphamide and in those with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis[1][3][5][7].
