RGH-338

RGH-338 is an orally bioavailable small molecule antagonist of the arginine vasopressin receptor 1A (V1a), currently under development by Gedeon Richter for the treatment of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The arginine vasopressin (AVP) system is a key regulator of social cognition and behavior; specifically, the V1a receptor is highly expressed in brain regions involved in social processing. By selectively blocking V1a signaling, RGH-338 is intended to alleviate core symptoms of ASD, such as social communication difficulties and repetitive behaviors. As of early 2024, the compound has completed initial Phase 1 safety and pharmacokinetic assessments in healthy volunteers.
