Overview

RGH-706 is an experimental, orally active small molecule drug that acts as a potent antagonist of the melanin-concentrating hormone receptor 1 (MCHR1). By blocking MCHR1, RGH-706 inhibits the action of melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH), a neuropeptide involved in stimulating appetite and food-seeking behavior. The drug is being developed primarily for weight management and to address hyperphagia (abnormally increased appetite) in individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS). Clinical studies are evaluating its efficacy, safety, and tolerability in reducing appetite and improving metabolic parameters in PWS patients. RGH-706 was discovered and is being developed by Gedeon Richter[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8].
