RGI-3100 is an antigen-specific liposomal immunotherapy from REGiMMUNE's reVax platform, designed to induce immune tolerance for type 1 diabetes (T1D) by pharmacologically promoting regulatory T cells (Tregs). It combines α-galactosylceramide (α-GalCer), a CD1d ligand and activator of invariant natural killer T (iNKT) cells, with T1D target antigens such as insulin B peptide encapsulated in liposomes to restore immune balance, potentially preventing or delaying T1D onset without broad immunosuppression. Developed in collaboration with JDRF and Pfizer, preclinical studies in NOD mice demonstrated prevention of spontaneous T1D development and reduction of islet inflammation.[1][3][4][5]
