RHAMM antibody refers to monoclonal or polyclonal antibodies targeting the receptor for hyaluronan-mediated motility (RHAMM/CD168/HMMR). RHAMM is an oncogene and a key regulator of cell motility, invasion, and mitotic spindle integrity, often overexpressed in various cancers such as breast, prostate, and hematological malignancies. By binding to RHAMM, these antibodies block its interaction with hyaluronan (HA) and disrupt downstream signaling pathways (including ERK1/2 and Ras), thereby inhibiting tumor cell migration and metastasis. While primarily utilized as research-use-only (RUO) reagents for applications like immunohistochemistry, Western blotting, and flow cytometry, anti-RHAMM antibodies have also been investigated in preclinical studies as potential therapeutic agents to target the tumor microenvironment.
