Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nutratopic pro-AMP is a topical emollient and anti-inflammatory cream developed by ISDIN for the management of mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis, particularly facial eczema in pediatric patients. It is a multi-ingredient formulation containing rhamnosoft, niacinamide, and L-isoleucine. L-isoleucine acts as a specific inducer of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) in epithelial cells, enhancing the skin's innate immune defense. Niacinamide supports skin barrier function and provides anti-inflammatory effects, while rhamnosoft is a polysaccharide that prevents the adhesion of Staphylococcus aureus to the skin. Clinical studies, including investigator-initiated trials, have shown that the cream significantly reduces eczema severity and bacterial colonization compared to standard emollients.
