Overview

Rhesoglobin is a plasma-derived biologic containing human anti-D (Rh) immunoglobulin, developed by Biopharma Plasma LLC. It is indicated for the prevention of Rh isoimmunization (Rh sensitization) in Rh-negative pregnant women. The drug works by binding to RhD-positive fetal erythrocytes that may enter the maternal circulation during pregnancy or delivery, effectively masking the RhD antigen from the mother's immune system. This prevents the formation of maternal anti-D antibodies, thereby protecting future Rh-positive fetuses from hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN). It is typically administered as a 300 mcg dose both antenatally (at 28 weeks) and postnatally (within 72 hours of delivery).
