rhFGN Aα610 is a recombinant human fibrinogen variant developed by the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). It is a truncated form of the protein where the Aα-chain ends at amino acid position 610, effectively lacking the distal αC-domain found in the full-length (Aα847) protein. The drug is intended for the treatment of coagulation disorders and perioperative bleeding, specifically in the context of on-pump coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery where hemodilution and consumption of clotting factors can lead to impaired hemostasis.
