Overview

Applied Biological Laboratories is developing an intranasal rhinovirus-targeted treatment composed of a soluble intercellular adhesion molecule 1 competitive inhibitor approach together with immune-modulating proteins. The spray is intended to prevent or reduce rhinovirus infection by competitively blocking viral attachment at the rhinovirus receptor-binding site while enhancing local innate mucosal antiviral responses. The program is described as IND-enabling for rhinovirus infection and the common cold.
