Overview
**Rhitol** is a cell-based immunotherapy developed by Kiadis Pharma for treating chronic graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), particularly in patients resistant or intolerant to standard immunosuppressive therapies like steroids. It consists of allodepleted donor T-cells manufactured using the Theralux platform, targeting activated T-cells responsible for GvHD to restore immune tolerance and alleviate symptoms. Rhitol demonstrated an excellent safety profile and evidence of efficacy in a completed multicenter Phase II trial, received FDA Orphan Drug Designation, and was planned for Phase III studies around 2008, though development appears to have stalled.[1][2][7]
