Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RHN001 is a PSMA-targeting small molecule radiopharmaceutical developed for both diagnostic imaging and therapeutic applications in prostate cancer. The compound can be labeled with technetium-99m (99mTc) for SPECT imaging or rhenium‑188 (188Re) for radioligand therapy, making it a next-generation theranostic agent. As an imaging agent, technetium‑99m–labeled RHN001 enhances single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) scans by targeting the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), which is overexpressed in prostate cancer cells. When labeled with rhenium‑188, it delivers targeted ionizing radiation to tumor sites for therapeutic purposes. The drug was discovered through a collaboration between Telix Pharmaceuticals and Heidelberg University Hospital and is being advanced by Rhine Pharma GmbH[2][3][4][7][9].
