Overview
KamRho-D is a brand of rho(d) immune globulin, a sterile solution of specific antibodies (IgG) derived from human plasma that contains high concentrations of antibodies against the Rhesus factor D (RhD) antigen. It is primarily used for the prevention of Rh isoimmunization in Rh-negative women who are at risk of sensitization due to exposure to Rh-positive fetal red blood cells during pregnancy, delivery, or other obstetric events. By binding to and neutralizing fetal RhD-positive cells in the maternal circulation, KamRho-D prevents the mother's immune system from recognizing the D antigen and developing an active immune response, thereby protecting future Rh-positive fetuses from hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN).
