Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vitango is a traditional herbal medicinal product containing a standardized dry extract of *Rhodiola rosea* (WS 1375). Developed by Schwabe Pharmaceuticals, it is indicated for the temporary relief of symptoms associated with stress, such as fatigue, exhaustion, and irritability. As an adaptogen, it is thought to enhance the body's resistance to stress by modulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and regulating the release of stress hormones like cortisol. It also influences monoaminergic neurotransmitter levels (serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine) and induces the expression of heat shock proteins (HSP70) to protect cells from stress-induced damage.
