Overview

Rhoifolin is a naturally occurring flavone glycoside (flavonoid) that functions as an inhibitor of the ALDH2-PKC delta signaling axis. In the context of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), rhoifolin has been shown to selectively eliminate therapy-resistant leukemia stem cells (LSCs) by disrupting mitochondrial metabolic plasticity and oxidative phosphorylation. By targeting the ALDH2-PKC delta hub, it promotes mitophagy and increases chemosensitivity, potentially working in synergy with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) to eradicate minimal residual disease (MRD) and prevent disease relapse.
