Overview

RhuDex is a novel, orally bioavailable, low molecular weight small molecule that acts as an immunomodulating agent by inhibiting the CD80-CD28 costimulatory pathway. It functions as a CD80 antagonist, blocking undesired T-cell activation and exerting anti-inflammatory effects. RhuDex is being developed primarily for autoimmune diseases such as primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) and rheumatoid arthritis. The drug has been evaluated in phase II clinical trials for PBC in patients with inadequate response to ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), and has also shown biological activity in early studies for rheumatoid arthritis. Developed by MediGene, RhuDex is not currently approved by any regulatory agency[1][2][3][4][5][6].
