Riboxxol (RGIC®50) is a synthetic, double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) molecule developed by Riboxx Pharmaceuticals as an immunotherapy and vaccine adjuvant. It functions as a dual agonist of Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) and RIG-I-like receptors (RLR), which are key sensors of the innate immune system. By triggering these pathways, riboxxol promotes the maturation of dendritic cells and monocytes, leading to a robust Th1-polarized immune response and the activation of antigen-specific CD8+ T cells. The drug is primarily being developed for therapeutic vaccination against chronic viral infections, such as Hepatitis B. It is produced using a proprietary enzymatic process that ensures precise molecular length and high purity, distinguishing it from heterogeneous dsRNA mixtures like Poly(I:C).
