Overview

Mechanistically, specific bioactive peptides isolated from rice have demonstrated various physiological effects in preclinical studies: - Some tridecapeptides (e.g., QQFLPEGQSQSQK) derived from the endosperm exhibit antidepressant-like effects in animal models via activation of dopamine receptors[4]. - Other fractions show anti-inflammatory activity by modulating the Keap1–Nrf2 signaling pathway and regulating gut microbiota composition in colitis models[5]. - Certain peptides inhibit tyrosinase activity and melanogenesis in vitro, suggesting potential for skin health applications[6]. - Additional studies indicate anti-hypertensive (ACE inhibition), anti-diabetic (α-amylase inhibition), antioxidant, immune-modulatory, and muscle recovery benefits[8][1]. Rice protein peptide is primarily used as a dietary supplement ingredient for sports nutrition (muscle growth/repair), functional foods targeting metabolic health or mood support, or as hypoallergenic nutrition for individuals with milk/soy allergies.
