Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Rice starch is a natural product utilized as a bathing additive to enhance skin barrier function and facilitate the healing of damaged skin. Research indicates that incorporating rice starch into bath water, either as a powder or within a formulated bath product, can significantly improve the healing capacity of irritated skin. It has also been shown to enhance skin barrier function in individuals with atopic dermatitis. Its beneficial effects have been observed in healthy volunteers with skin irritated by sodium lauryl sulphate and in patients suffering from atopic dermatitis.
