Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RVEc is a genetically derived ricin A chain vaccine candidate developed to protect against ricin intoxication. It has been engineered to lack the toxic N-glycosidase activity of the native ricin toxin. The vaccine has demonstrated protective effects against aerosolized ricin holotoxin challenges in animal studies and has shown a favorable safety profile in both laboratory studies with human endothelial cells and in Phase 1 clinical trials.
