Overview

RIG-101 is an intranasal RNA therapeutic developed by RIGImmune Inc. for the prevention of seasonal viral exacerbations in patients with asthma and other chronic respiratory diseases. It consists of a stem loop RNA that acts as a potent agonist of the retinoic acid-inducible gene I (RIG-I) pathway. By activating RIG-I in the respiratory epithelium, RIG-101 induces the interferon pathway, thereby enhancing the innate immune response against respiratory viruses such as human rhinovirus (HRV) and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). The drug is formulated using RIGImmune's proprietary NEED™ (Nano-Emulsion Enhanced Delivery) technology, a non-lipid nanoparticle platform designed for effective delivery to nasal epithelial cells.
