rilonacept + indomethacin

Rilonacept + indomethacin is a combination therapy involving two distinct pharmaceutical agents: rilonacept, a recombinant fusion protein acting as an interleukin-1 (IL-1) blocker, and indomethacin, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). The combination has been investigated for the treatment of acute gout flares, hypothesized to potentially offer additive or synergistic anti-inflammatory effects by targeting both IL-1 mediated pathways (rilonacept) and prostaglandin synthesis (indomethacin). In clinical trials, rilonacept was administered subcutaneously while indomethacin was given orally, but the combination did not provide additional pain relief over indomethacin alone during acute gout attacks[1][2][3][5]. Rilonacept is developed and manufactured by Regeneron, and marketed as Arcalyst for approved indications (not as a combination with indomethacin), while indomethacin is a widely available generic NSAID from various manufacturers.
