Rilunermin alfa (formerly known as SCB-313) is a fully human recombinant fusion protein developed by Clover Biopharmaceuticals. It is engineered using the Trimer-Tag technology platform and consists of a trimeric form of the TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL). The drug targets the extrinsic apoptosis pathway by binding to death receptors DR4 and DR5, leading to physiologic trimerization and potent activation of apoptosis in tumor cells. Rilunermin alfa is being developed primarily for the treatment of intracavitary malignancies such as malignant ascites, malignant pleural effusions, and peritoneal carcinomatosis[1][2][4][6].
