RIN-002

RIN-002 is a systemic recombinant protein replacement therapy consisting of recombinant human type VII collagen (rHC7). Developed by Rinascera Therapeutics (a BridgeBio company), it is designed to treat Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (DEB), a rare genetic skin disorder caused by mutations in the COL7A1 gene. These mutations result in a deficiency of type VII collagen, the primary component of anchoring fibrils that hold the skin layers together. RIN-002 is administered intravenously to provide functional collagen VII systemically, potentially addressing both cutaneous and extracutaneous manifestations (such as esophageal involvement) of the disease. The asset has completed Phase 2 clinical development and is progressing toward Phase 3.
