Ring Guard

Ring Guard is an over-the-counter topical combination antifungal and antibacterial cream, marketed primarily for the treatment of superficial dermatologic infections such as ringworm (tinea corporis), jock itch (tinea cruris), athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), and other mixed fungal and bacterial skin infections. It is formulated with the imidazole antifungal miconazole nitrate, which inhibits ergosterol synthesis in fungal cell membranes, and the aminoglycoside antibiotic neomycin sulfate, which binds bacterial 30S ribosomal subunits to block protein synthesis, together providing broad coverage against susceptible dermatophytes, yeasts, and bacteria. The product is used topically on affected skin to relieve symptoms such as itching, burning, redness, and irritation and is available in several branded variants (e.g., Plus, Advance) with the same core mechanism focused on local eradication of cutaneous fungal and bacterial pathogens.[1][3][4][7][8][9][11]
