Overview

This is a non-standard combination therapy consisting of Ringer's solution (or Lactated Ringer's solution) and a corticosteroid. - **Ringer's solution** is an intravenous fluid containing sodium, potassium, calcium, and chloride ions in concentrations similar to those found in blood plasma. It is used for fluid and electrolyte replenishment, treatment of dehydration, shock, or as a vehicle for drug delivery[1][2][3]. - **Corticosteroids** are synthetic analogs of endogenous steroid hormones (such as prednisone or dexamethasone) that act primarily by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor. They exert anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects by inhibiting pro-inflammatory gene expression and promoting anti-inflammatory pathways[4][6][7]. The combination may be used in clinical settings where both rapid fluid resuscitation/replacement and anti-inflammatory or immunosuppressive therapy are required.
