RinLis

RinLis (insulin lispro) is a rapid-acting insulin analog biosimilar to Eli Lilly's Humalog, developed and manufactured by the Russian biotechnology company Geropharm. It is produced via recombinant DNA technology and features an inversion of the proline and lysine amino acids at positions B28 and B29 of the insulin B-chain. This structural modification reduces the tendency of the insulin molecules to form hexamers, resulting in faster absorption from subcutaneous tissue and a quicker onset of action compared to regular human insulin. RinLis acts as an agonist at the insulin receptor (INSR), stimulating glucose uptake in skeletal muscle and fat while suppressing hepatic glucose production. It is indicated for the treatment of both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control. Clinical studies have demonstrated that RinLis is bioequivalent to Humalog in terms of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.
